GODLY STANDARD IN A RELATIONSHIP

Good evening reader, I hope you had a blissful Wednesday. I want to appreciate my constant visitors to this blog, persons  who read the write-ups, are blessed by them and happily share to their friends, families, colleagues, church members and enemies on any social media platform across the globe. I do not know you but my heart goes out to you and from the depths of my heart, I appreciate and love you specially.
          Welcome to living waters blog, a blog where write-ups that are inspirational, Life-giving, truth revealing, soul searching and drawn from scriptures as the Holy Spirit gives guidance are published. I want you who reads and get blessed by these write-up to realise that there are very few blogs out there that focus on teaching the truths from God's word, I have a vision to build a blog that causes more traffic than any pornography, film or football sites. One that persons who read the posts, get blessed and grow more and more into the stature of Christ, a blog that would teach only the truth about scriptures and the gospel of Christ which will spread into the seven continents of the world.            We are going to be defining the terms Godly,standard and relationship.
We define what Godly means, it means of or pertaining to God,it also means devoted to God. Let's go on in defining what standard means, it means a model. Lastly, relationship means connection or association
    Now we can define Godly standard in relationship as having a life pertaining or devoted to God in any connection or association we find ourselves. The next question now becomes how can we live a life pertaining to God in our relationship? It is simply by pleasing God and how do we please God?, we please God by sticking to His ideas about relationship. What are His perspective or ideas about relationships?
1.Realising that HE is in charge:

    The first thing we should realise is that God is in charge of the relationship. It is necessary to make God the pilot of your relationship, because he built and founded it,so He has the skills to pilot you to where ever he will. Inasmuch as sometimes the plane (relationship)might develop fault,but being the founder he repairs it the best way. Seek him, depend on him and follow his directions every step of the way. Realise also that relationships are best enjoyed when God's plans and designs are followed.

2. Becoming the right person
       Most times persons go in search of the right partners forgetting the fact that you have to become the right person to attract the right person. How do you become the right person? You become the right person by building yourself financially, spiritually, morally and otherwise. You build yourself financially by becoming independent, and you do that by involving yourself in things that can fetch you money, not depending on your spouse for any little thing you need. You can also build yourself spiritually by studying and meditating on the word of God daily, also fellowshipping with Him. Morally you build yourself by reading books and getting knowledge daily.
3. Walk in love
      As imitators of God,we must walk in love. The Bible teaches us what it means to walk in love. Lets look at scriptures

1 cor 13:4-8

AMP:Love endures long and is patient and kind; love never is envious nor boils over with jealousy, is not boastful or vainglorious, does not display itself haughtily.

AMP:It is not conceited (arrogant and inflated with pride); it is not rude (unmannerly) and does not act unbecomingly. Love (God’s love in us) does not insist on its own rights or its own way, for it is not self-seeking; it is not touchy or fretful or resentful; it takes no account of the evil done to it [it pays no attention to a suffered wrong].

AMP:It does not rejoice at injustice and unrighteousness, but rejoices when right and truth prevail.

AMP:Love bears up under anything and everything that comes, is ever ready to believe the best of every person, its hopes are fadeless under all circumstances, and it endures everything [without weakening].

AMP:Love never fails [never fades out or becomes obsolete or comes to an end]. As for prophecy (the gift of interpreting the divine will and purpose), it will be fulfilled and pass away; as for tongues, they will be destroyed and cease; as for knowledge, it will pass away [it will lose its value and be superseded by truth].
          When failure arises in your relationship, learn not to put blames on your spouse rather bounce back to point 2(becoming the right person). Going back to point 2, you learn how to manage your emotions, your anger and also presenting the issue to the creator of relationship. You also need to have forgiving spirit for you to have healthy relationship,according to
Eph 4:32

AMP:And become useful and helpful and kind to one another, tenderhearted (compassionate, understanding, loving-hearted), forgiving one another [readily and freely], as God in Christ forgave you.
        Finally,in summary we must take Eph 5:1-2 ,as our guide

AMP:Therefore be imitators of God [copy Him and follow His example], as well-beloved children [imitate their father].

AMP:And walk in love, [esteeming and delighting in one another] as Christ loved us and gave Himself up for us, a slain offering and sacrifice to God [for you, so that it became] a sweet fragrance.
       It is God's will for us to be in a Godly relationship, we must not be afraid of commitment, you don't have to jump from one relationship to another, that's not God's will for you. As believers we have to do relationship God's way, set and follow these Godly standard.
